Window shelf — does it make sense?

Idea from Japan

Saw it on Japanese Jimny enthusiasts' Instagram. A shelf mounted with suction cups to the windshield. Looks great, it's practical — phone, coffee, sunglasses, everything within reach.

The catch

In the sun, the suction cups heat up and can let go after a few hours. Solution: additional rubber pads for better grip. Since I added them — zero problems.
